KICKER (BRYNMAWR KICKER)

This is Kicker.

Kicker at 5 weeks (with his litter brother Tan)Kicker was born on 21st August 2005 (he has the same birthday as our dear little Hobby).

I was planning to get another puppy over the winter and I'd started looking around. I came across a website called E-Pupz and searched for Border Collie litters. I e-mailed several breeders asking if they'd got any mismarked male puppies but they all e-mailed me back and said no, until I e-mailed Joy who replied with Kicker's photo.

Kicker - 11 weeksKicker's litter was over 200 miles away from my house so I bombarded poor Joy with questions to make sure that the journey to visit Kicker was going to be worthwhile.   I went to see him when he was 5 weeks old.  I met his parents 'Shyloe' and 'Alfie' first and they were both lovely and then Joy took me to the kennel where the pups were.  When she opened the door, the 10 pups came running out and Kicker came running straight to me and jumped up at me asking to be picked up.  It was so strange, none of the other pups did that, only him. It was as if he knew I was there to choose him.

Well I fell in love with him, and went back to Wales when he was 8 weeks to collect him.

He was a brilliant pup, one of the cleverest I've had.  As soon as he arrived he settled in like he'd lived here years, he was housetrained from the start, learnt to open the  babygates at 12 weeks old, and just let himself in and out through the catflap in the back door.  He absolutely loves learning new things.  His obedience training is coming along very well and he's progressing through the classes. I'm chuffed to bits with him.
