This isn't a very big page! Jodie was a late starter (bless her little cotton socks!)
The day Jodie won her first Novice, I had planned not to take her to the show. She hadn't been working well during the previous few weeks, and
it was my own club's show and I was due to be helping in the stay ring
during the day so I would be very busy. Also the forecast was for very warm
weather, so I had made up my mind the day before that I would leave Jodie at home and just work Teddy. On the morning of the show, I was loading up the car, and
my Mum opened the back door and let all the dogs run up to the car. Jodie jumped straight into the back and I didn't have the heart to turf her out, but I was
annoyed about it and told Mum off.
At the show, I booked Jodie into her class, in case I felt like working her but I didn't think I would. Just before lunch, I could see that the judge was waiting for dogs, so I got Jodie out of the car and took her straight over to the ring with
no warm-up whatsoever. I was gobsmacked when she worked like a dream and went sailing into a lead which wasn't beaten all day. Funny how things work out, isn't it?
