HOBBY (Darkbeck Hobnob)

This is Hobby.

Hobby was born in August 1989.  He was a full brother to Jamie, from the repeat mating the following year.  He was my Mum’s dog.

Hobby was born to love and be loved.  He was very different to Jamie (who didn't like strangers).  Hobby adored everyone and was a registered PAT-dog.  He loved visiting old people, who would stroke and cuddle him for hours on end, only stopping to give him a biscuit.

Hobby won 4 Beginners with Mum and 2 Novices with me, as I was working him while Mum was recovering from an operation.

Sadly Hobby died in July 1998 from a blood clot on the lung, three weeks after surviving a heart attack.  He was just 8 years old.

There is never a right time for a dog to die but Hobby couldn’t have died at a worse time as Mum was in hospital at the time.  She was so upset that she wasn’t there for him.   It is ironic in a way that Mum died just 3 months after Hobby, as they never could bear to be apart for very long. I hope they met each other at Rainbow Bridge.  They will never be apart again.
