BOVVA (Arranbanks Spotta Bovva)

This is Bovva.  He was born from an accidental mating between Jess and Kizzie, two black & white pet dogs belonging to a friend.  I wasn't planning to get another pup at the time, but I'd always liked Jess, he was a good looking dog and had a fantastic temperament,  and Kizzie was a cute mismarked bitch, and as soon as I heard about the mating, I found myself asking for a pup.

Every week, when I saw Kizzie, I touched her tummy and asked her if she was growing a little mismarked boy for me!  She didn't let me down.

I was lucky enough to have the pick of the 2 dogs in the litter and immediately fell in love with the strange-looking white-faced one.  I picked him out at 1-day old.

It's been interesting watching how his markings have changed. When he was born he was completely black & white and had no tan on him at all, but over the weeks and months the tan started coming through.  Bovva at 9 weeks

He's incredibly bright and learns new thing very quickly.  He used to watch Bizzi  collecting up the dishes after meal times, and when Bizzi died, Bovva took over that very important task.

He also fetches the newspaper from the magazine rack (whether I want it or not !) and brings me the post.

He also shuts the lounge door when someone leaves it open.

One of Bovva's tricks is speaking on command.  He also whispers (barks without making any noise) which is a great improvement on speaking with his very loud bark!

Bovva is doing well in the obedience ring.  Click to the next page to see his achievements so far.

Bovva also went to agility classes for a while.  If I could have gone a bit faster and remember my right from left, he could have done very well in agility!

Bovva did done a few agility shows and  managed one clear round which earned him 9th place in an Elementary Jumping class.

On 17th September 2005 he qualified CDex with a score of 88% at his first Championship Trial.

He competed at two other Championship Trials and qualified CDex at both of those too.
