BIZZI (Splash of Magic)

This is Bizzi. 

He was a son of Sylvia Bishop’s Whizzie, Ob.Ch. It’sa Kinda Magic and a grandson of Sunny, Ob.Ch. Magic Sunday. He was born in April 1994.

Bizzi was originally my Mum’s dog, but sadly Mum died in October 1998 so I adopted him.

Bizzi was a great show-off and loved performing tricks. If anyone came to the house, he would shut the door behind them and get them a newspaper from the magazine rack. He was a great help at feeding time, as he collected up all the dogs’ dishes when they’d finished eating and took them to the kitchen for washing up. 

When Mum was ill in bed, Bizzi was a great help to her, fetching things for her and taking notes downstairs to Dad if she wanted a coffee or anything else brought upstairs to her.

Bizzi loved working and always made 200% effort, but would often put his own interpretation on the exercises, which wasn't always what the judges were looking for !

1999 was a good season for Bizzi, winning 1 Limit Novice, 4 Open Novices and 1 Open ‘B’.  

2000 was also pretty good.  Bizzi won Test 'A' twice and got another 'B'. He also notched up ten 2nd places in 'A' and five 2nd places in 'B'.  

2001 started with a bang, with Bizzi winning his 3rd 'B' on 19th May. This made him eligible for Class 'C' only. He went on to gain several places in Open C (including a 2nd and a 3rd place) and he thoroughly enjoyed himself.

I was hoping that 2002 would be Bizzi's year and he would qualify for Championship C. I had great hopes for him and I know he would have loved the challenge and the atmosphere of the ticket ring, but sadly it wasn't to be, and Bizzi died tragically on 4th January 2002 after suffering a sudden and unexpected spinal stroke.

The house seems so empty without him. He was such a fun dog. I will never stop missing him.

About 18 months before Bizzi died we started agility training. He really loved it. We did our first agility show on December 3rd 2000. It was great fun. We only managed 2 shows after that first one, and at Eastbourne in November 2001, he did a clear round in Elementary Jumping and finished 23rd in a class of 241.

I hope that Mum is reunited with Bizzi now. He was her blue-eyed boy, she absolutely adored him.

 Bizzi visited Mum every day when she went into the hospice during the last week of her life, and she was always so pleased to see him and was so proud when he showed off his tricks to the nurses and the visitors.
